Many teens want to do something about climate change but don’t have access to the right resources.

Climate Solutions Society was created to give students everything they need to quickly turn their climate anxiety into climate impact.

What Makes Us Unique

Our programs are designed to address the gaps in existing educational resources by providing a practical, accessible, and engaging learning experience.

Practical Knowledge

Our emphasis on hands-on learning with Python programming and Raspberry Pi hardware enables students to quickly build functional environmental monitoring solutions.

By offering free access to state-of-the-art technology, including Raspberry Pi systems and SensoryAI’s environmental platform, we empower students to ideas into impact.

Dive into a reservoir of knowledge with mentorship from leaders in science, technology, disaster prevention, and conservation. Our mentors are here to guide, inspire, and propel you forward.

Join a group of changemakers, passionate about creating a sustainable world. Together, we learn, innovate, and make a real impact.

Ongoing Projects

Our chapters are working on a variety of solutions for environmental problems – here are a few of them!

Our Journey

From Science Project to Global Initiative

The Beginning

Our inception is rooted in Ryan Honary’s award-winning science project, inspired by the devastation caused by California’s 2018 Camp Fire.

The system, built with Raspberry Pi, was initially designed for the early detection of wildfires and leveraged machine learning to predict their growth with 70-80% accuracy.

Along with numerous other recognitions, Ryan was named a Top 30 finalist in the Broadcom MASTERS, the nation’s premier STEM middle school competition. He’s also had the opportunity to speak about his technology during UNESCO – Learning Planet and the United Nations General Assembly SDG Action Weekend.

The Creation of CSS

With the momentum from his accolades, Ryan founded SensoryAI, further honing the technology that powered his early wildfire detection system.

This became a cornerstone for a broader vision – the Climate Solutions Society (CSS), which was announced at the UNESCO Learning Planet Festival in 2023. Ryan is a Learning Planet Fellow.

Our Outreach Approach

Expanding to Engage Youth Everywhere

Local

Starting in SensoryAI's home base, we partnered with Newport Harbor High School and its IB program to establish the inaugural CSS chapter. Now we're partnering with out local schools in order to expand.

Regional

Regional collaborations, like our partnerships with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, Orange County Fire Authority and other regional non-profits enable us to spread the word and provide access to experts who share our passion.

Global

We leverage the connections made through global organizations such as LearningPlanet and UNESCO to amplify our voice on international platforms, allowing us to engage with youth worldwide.
